So what would th g80 get in 3dmark06? :o
A 7950 pulls out around 7500 - 8500 in the average in 3dmark06. So around 15k-17k for the G80.

That's just going to be nuts! (nana2) I doubt they'll perform that well though, as we've rarely seen 100% performance increase going from one generation to another. I'll start saving my money though... :o

Well i think we will se a 100% increase in dx10 games vs the 7950 and maybe about 60-80% in dx9 games.
I really think DX10 will bring a new and nice time to PC gaming.

The improvement will be infinity % since the 7950GT cannot do DX10 stuff .....

Very true...and that is why a Step-Up to G80 is so beautiful.
Don't forget, a 9800pro @ 6,000 in 3dmark03 to a 6800GT @ 11,600, it can be done. Not to mention what a 6800Ultra could do.

Same here. As the previous 2 generations, each GT version was single slot. That is what I'm going for this time around. So, hopefully the "G80 GT" will be about twice as fast as the 7900GT (in DX9 games that is) while also being single slot.
Then again, if even the GT version requires an external PSU I doubt there will be a single slot GT version. :(

i'm suprised no one posted this

That is actually rather unfortunate. I was really hoping to pick one up this November. I might have even bought two.
Oh well. :(

384bit memory bus .... :drooling:
Finally they noticed about the huge bottleneck that video memory speed is for HD gaming.
Yes I would be especially impressed with a 384bit memory bus, that is a huge memory bandwith increase.
If the clocks are high, that could put it to nearly 100GB/s!!!

I can't wait till we get some solid specs on the NV50, it's sounding like it will be blazing fast. Having 1 gig of RAM would be great, because then you don't have to worry about any game (anything based on the Unreal III engine, Crysis, etc.) not having all the memory it could possibly need. And hopefully it will be out in time for Christmas. :)
I don't think we will see a game that uses 1GB for texture memory anytime soon :)

EQ2 ran great for me when I played... performance got weird when I went Dual Core...

BF2124 looks pretty playable according to Firingsquads (http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/battlefield_2142_highend/page4.asp) benchmarks.
