Hi everyone! This is my first post to this board, so I apoligize for any stupidty displayed in this next post. I followed the instructions posted by Rob regarding the 4191 drivers in RPM version. I have reinstalled linux almost 5 times now. For one, I don't even know if I downloading the right kernel, I have an XP 2000+ so I assumed that the file I was supposed to download was 'NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.rh80up_2.4.18_18.8.0.athlon.rpm'. Is this correct? When I try to install the drivers using 'rpm -ivh NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.rh80up_2.4.18_18.8.0.athlon.rpm', it crashes and says something to do with error code 1 and says module nvidia.o was not installed. When I try to uninstall it using the 'rpm -e NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.rh80up_2.4.18_18.8.0.athlon.rpm' command, it says the package is not installed. But when I try to run the install again using the -ivh command, it says the driver is already installed. And now X does not work! Am I using the wrong kernel, am I supposed to use the 386, or 586? Please help, this has caused me much pain and suffering! Btw, the GLX package installs fine. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps! :)
