I need to buy new sound card, I have 2 alternatives either Audigy 2ZS OEM or Audigy 4 Non Pro Retail
Audigy2 ZS is priced 60$ and Audigy 4 priced 70$
Audigy 4 non pro:
Depends what you need and if the $10 bucks means anything to you...
Money is important....get the A2
If slightly better DAC's are important.....get the A4

I also found this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16829111002
it uses the same chipset used in AuzenTech HDA X-Mystique and has the feature of Dolby Dital Live
anyone tried it ?
>>Diamond Auzentech and all DDL crap:
I tried a different card based on the same CMI chip as the one op mentioned, also with DDL, from German company Terratec. It was an utter piece of crap, a real CPU hog, worse than onboard sound and crashing my system randomly when I was changing some audio settings. No, Thank you.
Who needs DDL? Why would you want to use digital connection over analog connection for gaming? DDL means compresion and delay are introduced. No DDL solutions support EAX HD. So no occlusions and no correctly positioned sound in BF2. Instead you end up with sound which is twice compressed and encoded and twice decompressed and decoded before it reaches speakers.
I am happy with X-Fi and analog set of speakers. Defenitely better value then paying for a sound card that has digital to analog conversion and then again for speakers that have the same digital to analog conversion.
>>Audigy 2 vs Audigy 4
These cards have the same DACs unless you talk about this Audigy 4 Pro which has better DACs. I think Audigy 2ZS is THX certified and this might why it is more expensive.
