View Full Version : cannot display 1680x1050 via DVI on Viewsonic vx2025 (GeForce 5500) WinXP)
Hi -
I just got the Viewsonic vx2025wm and am struggling to get it to display 1680x1050 via DVI via my GeForce FX 5500 (N55256D). I'm using WinXP Pro.
(ps. Viewsonic vx2025wm's native res is 1680x1050).
Have installed latest nVidia and Viewsonic drivers.
Hoping someone here can give me a pointer... :)
EDIT: Wrong forum - can a mod please move?
Thats due to the DVi on the card it's not faster enough DAC to display high rezes.
can you please elaborate on this?
If I were to get a newer card, what features / DAC am I looking for?

Max Resolution, 2048x1536@85Hz
so the card shouldn't be the problem

That's probably the maximum resolution over the VGA connection, not DVI.
just what I was thinking, unfortunately.
Why not use VGA? There's really no big difference anyway...
EDIT: Heh sry I was tired and my thoughts got mixed! :D I meant that you could use VGA, since the difference isn't so big compared to DVI and in some instances it may even be better.
sorry? I am using AGP, it's the only slot the card will fit into.
