Windows Vista does not appear in the list of supported operating systems. I personally wouldn't attempt installing it if I were you.

Given that Vista has Direct X 10, why would you install DX 9?

At least games that I have used that use D3D, still work under Vista with the Direct X that comes with the system. I don't really see much reason for one to downgrade Direct X here...

Vista Beta 2 does not have DX10 in it as of yet.

It should have nearly the latest version of DX9 though.

Same that I have. I'm running Vista beta 2, and dxdiag reports Direct X 10.

I'm not sure where you get it not being included. But dxdiag disagrees...

Wow, I wasn't aware they have it included as of now.

If your thinking this may help any game performance, it'll be newer nv drivers you will want. Even this build of dx10 should be reasonably backwards compatible.

I ran 3dmark03 and lost 2000 points on the vista beta2. :(
