Nice. I wish I had the money so i could pick on of them up, and some video cards to feed it. I don't think my 7800GTx's (256mb) would be able to drive that resolution in games....well, at least with maxed settings. They're struggling with it as it is with my Dell 2407.

GDM-FW900! Not as big screen wise as the Dell 30" but its better in my opinion... but its CRT, hehe.

Trust me it's BIG and FAT!

Go for it, wonderful display. Gaming is big and fat on it.
Assuming you can afford to upgrade every few months to continually run games at 2560x1600. :D

If it's games you want I'd get a 37" 1080p panel instead. 3007WFP is more geared for DTP, CAD, etc. that sort of thing. Movies and games look better and play better on a larger panel.

Hmmm any smaller recommendations like 24" ?

Couse i now think 30" will be a bit of overkill :o

24" is nice :)

Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24in Widescreen ?

Samsung SyncMaster 244T ?

The samsung uses a newer panel.

I like the Samsung more... ANyone has suggestions ?

Hmm the Samsung SyncMaster 32" 320P TFT is also very nice.

Nope... I think the Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24in Widescreen is the best choise :)

How far away do you normally sit from your Westy?

When I got my Tax return i was waffling between the Westy And the 3007, and then I spent it before deciding damnit! (actually I looked into the Sceptre 42in panel too, but the Bezel is just so superior on the Westy, which is actually important to me)

I know I will get one onc emy next check rolls around as long as there are deals to be had, but for Christ's sake I still can't decide

He's right, the biggest fattest baddest Dell there is, awesome for XHD gaming if you have the gpu power.

How far away do you normally sit from your Westy?Between two and two and a half feet back from it. If I'm watching a movie I'll sit back on the couch about five feet back.

Some people raise a lot of noise over the pixel pitch. In my opinion it's noowhere close to as bad as some people say. Don't believe me? If you plan on buying one go to bestbuy with a laptop capable of 1920x1080. Hook it up before you buy and see for yourself.

It does make the game more enjoyable, immersive, and it will also improve your play since it is easier to make shots when the target is larger on the screen.

I'm glad I didn't get the 3007. Not that it isn't a nice monitor mind you. Just that the 37" 1080p panels are better for my purposes (movies, gaming, and web surfing).

Hmmm should i get the 2407 or the Dell 3007....... im frustrated about the banding issue that the 2407 range had / has ?

Try being a bit more polite and people might help you. Your hour and a half you waited for a response before you posted again is childlike. We will help you, just give us time.

3007 is a great monitor with a HUGE resolution.

2407FPW is also a great monitor, with less resolution (1920x1200) and it is smaller. Thats about it. The banding issues were fixed.

What more do you want? One is bigger, one is smaller. Other than the resolution, they are pretty much the same.

Don't be a pussy. Get a real display. Panasonic makes the best 50in plasmas on the market (except for B&O but I doubt you have 50grand to drop on a display), and you can hook them up to your computer via VGA or DVI cable. I believe the 50in runs at 1280x720. If you want to wait a bit the new 1080p plasmas from panasonic are comming out that run at 1920x1080.

This display is "fat-ass" and you can mount it on a wall as well. 10000:1 contrast ratio, 28 billion colors. fat-ass

I would go with the 24" beacuse of the resolution. The 30" one is nice but u will need to buy 2 of the best sli cards every year to be able to run the newest games at that res.. so if you are not rich go with the 24" one ;)

24" is big enough trust me :p

I just picked up a Philips 1080p LCD with the Ambilights. It has to be the best LCD I have seen in the $5000AUD and under mark. It's response time is amazing, no ghosting at all and it scales well. Even old 576i analogue TV looks great. While its mainly a TV. I can see me doing some crazy gaming on it. Especially now I'm going to pick up a 360. Mass Effect hurry up!
