Well if it is running constantly in 3D mode the cards then I can see alot of cards burning up...

I can see systems being a little noiser now that the fan will allways be running at 3d mode speed, but what makes you think these video cards are being strained so much they cant work for long at their rated spec?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. If that was going to be a problem then I am sure everyone would know about it by now.

it may be wise if they made drivers that would operate in "Vista" Mode where the card would run in a clocked down mode to lower strain and fan noise.

Yeah, I hope they do that. It would be a little annoying to have the fans going in 2D as well.

If you can play quake 3 or counter strike source, or world of warcraft for hours on end.. how can running your desktop in 3d for hours on end be a problem?
