My card is a 5700LE :o

$ glxgears
5811 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1162.032 FPS
4893 frames in 5.0 seconds = 978.531 FPS
4654 frames in 5.0 seconds = 930.045 FPS
4550 frames in 5.0 seconds = 909.502 FPS
4480 frames in 5.0 seconds = 895.985 FPS

Is there something wrong with my xorg.conf?

`glxgears` is not useful as a benchmark, as it's influenced by too many factors. Are you seeing performance problems with other OpenGL applications, as well?

Where are you getting an "expected FPS" from? Have you recently upgraded to 6.1 and it was working faster before?

Have you switched display resolutions in moving to 6.1? Definitely using Direct Rendering (from output of glxinfo) ? Have you switched versions of the display driver? What has changed to make your current fps seem not so good?

I have to admit I also use glxgears as a quick-n-dirty speed check as well... but for me (fortunately) it's been a pretty steady upward progression as NVIDIA cards increase in number (and of course I upgrade the main CPU as well).

I got the expect FPS with all linux I put in my computer, its includes all the live cds one. My freebsd is 6.1 stable with the lastest ports and pkgs upgradeds, dont know what is wrong with freebsd driver. If I move the glxgears window this freezes a little(0.3 seconds maybe) and then continue.

At this moment I'm with ubuntu 6.06 and xgl , It's perfect.
