6600GT overheated/burned!

Should/Would XFX cover this under warrenty???

My friend was playing CSS when his PC turned off. He brought his PC over to my house and when I tried to turn his PC on it wouldnt get any video signal, I noticed no power going to his card or anything like that so I took it out and noticed those burn marks. The card was not overclocked or anything! How did this happen and will XFX cover this? On their site it says they wont cover physical damage done to the card, would this be considered physical damage?

I remember back when tons of people's 6600GT's were burning up. :thumbdwn:

I don't think that's considered physical damage. It's not your friend's fault, he didn't do anything to provoke it. The warranty will cover it.

neither of my 2 6600GTs burned, nor did any of my buddies (i have 2 buddies with 6600GTs)

Great. Most people's 7900's aren't exploding, either, but this being somewhat of a "support" forum, there's still many threads/posts filled with issues, which was the case with the 6600GT not too long ago, maybe not so much here, but other forums I occasionally read.

I say "tons" becuase it seemed as though I read through many threads about them, with this Same issue, which usually just resulted in a simple RMA.
