Hopefully this gets AMD on their horse and they answer with a Conroe killer. 128-bit CPUs anyone?

32-bit floats are already prefered for most everything and you will still be using them in 64-bit mode for the vast majority of tasks, certainly for games which are very RAM-intensive as it is already. There is no benefit whatsoever to using 64-bit floats for coordinates(which will be truncated to 32-bit or less on the GPU and the added precision would only benefit you in very contrived situations even if that wasn't the case), there's no benefit in using it for colours(most applications are still using 8-bit integer per component).

128-bit CPUs is a truly daft idea at this point and it would be a huge loss for AMD as it increases die area and has no benefit.
