France ftw! The italien player Totti spit one of our players in the face in the last cup, my relationship with Italian nation football team has never been quite same since then. Plus I think Portugal, Italy and several other countries has this certain Latino pussyness to them. I mean just look at the last match Portugal vs. France. Im mean the Portuguese players took every chance they had to just throw them selfs to the ground without or with little reason and then film and cry like the wimps they are! No I really hope France takes this one :D

I am speechless about what Zidane did, it's shame that he ended his career like this. Still it would be interesting to hear what that Italian player said to him before that headbuck, but Zidane is a pro, he should know better than that.

No, the verdict will come tomorrow, that's the last thing i heard. But how strong the punishment is going to be for each team remains to be seen.

I think France deserved to win based on both team's efforts in the final. But when I see the world cup as a whole, Italy's gold is not exactly unmerited so grats to Italy.
Zidane's behaviour was of course totally unacceptable and it was such a shame to see in an otherwise fair and nicely-toned match (pb)

Yet I am very curious about what made Zidane see red and lose his temper. Not just anything could trigger off such a reaction IMO, not even from Zidane, perhaps a racist remark? It's just that Zidane is 34, elected as the world's best football player several times, World champion, Europe champion, and after all the most experienced and skilled player on the french team - for gods sake he should have the routine to just turn his back even though it was Materazzi who is probably THE meanest defender in the world (pirate)

He has been given red cards before for bad behavior like this. He stomped on a Saudi player back in the 1998 World Cup and butted a player in club play a few years back. It is a shame for his career to end this way but he has only himself to blame for getting kicked out. This would be like Michael Jordan getting kicked out of a game 7 in the NBA Finals in his last game as a Bull.

Honestly, I'd say Zidane cost France the cup. I doubt France would have missed that critical shot if Zidane had been in the shootout.

The penatly awarded to France was BS. Therefore Italy should have won before the shootout, but it was total dominace on France's part for the last 60 minutes, it;s too bad they couldn't produce something up front.

Headbut was shocking. I was in a French bar and the fans were going wild cheering for Zidane. I booed him and some frog threw a bottle at me. Snowballed into a pretty good fight! :D Good times.
