Fuad missed the boat on this article (http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=32857)

i already OWN a dell laptop with the chip.

it overclocks to 450 core, 600 memory.

a little faster than a full size 7800 gtx.

i'm really impressed with these new generation laptop video cards.

oh and THIS line in the article:
This mobile chip is actually meant for the big desktop replacement notebooks - seventeen or nineteen inch notebooks that will offer a lot of power and barely any battery life

totally not true, i get between two to three hours battery life. (nana2)

A Go 7900GS would not be faster even overclocked at 450/600 than a desktop 7800 GTX (stock speeds of a desktop 7800 GTX are 430/600 but the desktop GTX has 4 more pipes and 1 extra vertex shader). The 7900 GS is essentially a 7800GT 20 pipes with 4 pipes and 1 vertex shader disabled. Overclocked, a Go 7900GS would be faster than a Go 7800 GTX though, since the Go 7800 GTX also only has 20 pipes. Stock speeds vs Stock speeds, the Inq is correct, the 7900GS is slightly slower than a Go 7800 GTX. The 7900GS is a much better overclocker than the Go 7800 GTX though.

I don't know what's up with the Inquirer reporting this in July as Dell has been selling laptops with the 7900GS for months now.
