Tried to get VISTA AERO working with 7950

Hi everyone,

I tried to modify the latest vista beta 2 drivers to support my 7950GX2.
I figured I could add a device ID in the .inf file and then make this device act like a 7900GT (which is is ..sort of).
Well it installed fine, but at boot, I just had a black screen. Anybody have any ideas?

you could do one of two things, first you could use the beta 2 drivers that nvidia posted, though i'm not sure your card is supported; or two download and install 5456, which includes a new driver platform, which might support your card. THAT or try modifying the inf and see where u get.

Just give up it up as a bad joke till they release some new betas that support 7950..... Ive been there.... sit back relax leave xp or whatever your poison is on and neck some ale, sooooooo much more relaxing :D

Yea, an ale sounds good. But if we wanted to relax we would buy a mac....

Seriously, I've ssen some mention of mod drivers for the 7950 but do they support aero?
