hey guys,

i saw a post here a couple days ago that mentioned a website where a patch can be downloaded for video cards that don't support 3.0 pixel shading and we can play oblivion that way, but i'm not able to find that post anymore. Can someone please tell me where I can get that patch.

thanks,
Paul

With the new patch you do not need oldblivion any more.

What does the patch have to do with oldblivion though?

The updated launcher now includes options for changing your auto detect settings for Video Quality. The presents are Very Low, Low, Medium, High and Ultra High. If you select Reset to Defaults, it will restart the auto detect and offer the best settings for your system.

It has a new Very Low setting that supports older cards that it didn't have before.

Ah, I see.

Does it have a similar effect to Oldblivion? Oldblivion doesnt really look bad at all.

I really don't have a old enough card handy to test with so I'm not sure.

The patch's ultra low pretty much disabled a lot of the shaders, on the other hand, old oblivion has replaced shaders that work on older cards. So actually, oldoblivion looks much better.
