I installed the new x16 drivers from Nvidia on MCE and noticed that the ide is standard, not the nvidia one.
Now whats weird is the ones i did before my os wipe, it said nvidia nforce ide controller.
I did use the cd for my asus P5N32 and did an update with these though.
How can i get those nforce badged ide's and are they effective with my dvd burners?

standard ide is much better if you will be using just optical drives on IDE channels
check out club.cdfreaks.com, nvidia ide drivers are pretty much hated there.

club.cdfreak also realise thier major issue is they are using the adaptec aspi layer
by using the Nero layer (copying wnaspi32.dll from the nero folder to system32) fixes all this.
even club cd knows this..

So its best to be glad the ide drivers states it as standard rather than nvidia?

i don't use adapter ASPI, i never had it installed
and having nvidia IDE does cause problems for me and others too.
all my HDDs are sata, while both of my burners are on seperate IDE channel
Pioneer DVR-A111L is on Primary IDE
BenQ DW1655 is on Secondary IDE
when i had nvidia IDE installed, it caused one major issues both drives would drop in speed if i tried to use them at same time
with standard IDE controller, i can burn different files on both burners, or install a game from one, burn something on second.
