View Full Version : Upgrading old Laptop

I am upgrading an old laptop for a friend of mine. It is a KDS (Which I have never even heard of) and it is running Windows Millenium Edition. It runs perfectly fine, considering he hasn't used it much. Now he wants it just around the house to hook up to the internet and do some word processing and excel spreadsheets. Nothing too big. It has a Penitum III processor running at 833 Mhz and 106mb of ram. (I know..wow) It actually runs really well and shouldnt be too bad. I am plannign on upgrading the memory to at least 512 and getting a new hard drive for it and re-loading millenium edition on it so it will be a nice new clean install. The problem is, I don't know what kind of ram to get because it is so old and niether with the hard drive. If you guys could help me out that would be great. Thanks.
