Ok, I will be selling my motherboard + cpu for now since no new games are appealing and will be switching over to conroe some time in the future. I have lots of spare parts around, enough to build me a backup PC till i get the new stuff...

Which of the 2 would be better?

MSi 661FM-L mATX skt478 mobo
Pentium 4 2.8Ghz Northwood 800mhz FSB
XFX Geforce 6600GT AGP

Or...

Asus A7N8X Deluxe
AMD Athlon XP 3200+ Barton
XFX Geforce 6600GT AGP

If the P4 would be a better overall backup PC I would buy a mATX case and make me a shuttle PC. :)

I was using the exact setup below.

Asus A7N8X Deluxe
AMD Athlon XP 3200+ Barton
XFX Geforce 6600GT AGP

But I just changed out the video card and have a 6800gt OC now.

So no one knows which will be faster? I know I can get a lot for my XP 3200+ on ebay...They have a market price of about $140 now!

Go with the AMD system, you know you want to. Although, that shuttlebox system would be pretty cool.

How is using an mATX case a Shuttle PC? If you're talking about that MSI "SFF" case, you'll find it substantially larger than a Shuttle. :D

I'm partial to the AMD system since I'm basically running the same thing right now (with a 6800GT).
