Holy crap this looks awsome! It looks alot better then Prey's system (considering you control the portal) aswell as the graphics are shapping up to be far better then Episode 1's.

I can't wait to see how the final game ends up.

Yeah I saw it, looks amazing. The video looks as if it has some sort of motion blur, and I'm really digging that.

Yes that was awesome! Has Valve said if Portal will have any combat at all?

They might put it in HL2:E2 or maybe E3, who knows. If its a standalone game then I hope not. It would be an awsome puzzle game.

From what I understand Portal will be a standalone game...

It's my understanding that the team that created this (http://www.nuclearmonkeysoftware.com/narbaculardrop.html) was hired by Valve and is the reason we will be getting portal...Anyways, the graphics (of Narbacular Drop) stink pretty badly but it'll give you a good taste of what's to come. By the way Portal looks fantastic. I'm excited that all of this will be making it's way to the 360. Fun!

It's about time! Well worth the wait :D That was pretty awesome though. I agree with whoever said that it puts Prey's portals to shame.

There is a Prey mod that allows you to control portals as well.

The whole items through the portal is an awesome idea though.

That's beautiful, it's looks like with the right gameworld your options will be almost unlimited, mp will be a trip!

Oh man... imagine if they mixed this with Half-Life deathmatch :D

Create a portal right behind your enemy, then create one behind you... when he throws a grenade, you move out of the way, and it goes through the portal, blowing him up.

Anyone try Narbacular Drop? It's actually pretty fun.

Just don't expect anything by way of nice graphics. If you check the web page the last post confirms that the students who developed Narbacular Drop were hired by Valve to work on Portal. I'll bet those guys are loving it!

I just watched the 720p video of Portal. I'm so impressed. I love the depth of field blur on the "gun" and there seems to be some motion blurring going on. I'm very excited for this game to come out. Teamxbox indicates that this will be included in the HL2:EP2 package for the 360. I hope they are right.

It was announced when Portal was announced that HL2:EP2 will include TF2 and Portals on release for PS3, X360 and PC.

Hmm...would combat even work with this? I am just trying to imagine how the engine would process projectiles going through portals, especially instantaneous projectiles that have no speed as far as the engine itself is concerned, like bullets for example. Imagine if it ended up in an infinite loop...talk about a memory/cpu overload from hell. Something like the crossbow or a rocket launcher could possibly work, but it could get ugly pretty fast.

Portals aren't creating a new object in the world so it wont take more memory over time if something is in an infinite loop. As for projectiles, They would work normally since theres no delay in the portals. So, see a player on the otherside of a portal and shoot should be just like shooting him if he was right infront of you (Done the same way in Prey).
