I am looking to buy a couple of copies of XP pro. Where could I get them for cheap, say sub 70 bucks? I went to shopping.com and found the academic version for 41 bucks from ritzcamera.com but I am not sure how legit that is,or if there are any catches to getting the academic version.
in any case I'd rather not break the bank getting them, so whatever deals you guys know about I'd appreciate the info.

The $41 Windows XP Pro academic version is for education with volume license for teachers and students, it not for you so you could buy a full OEM version for $79.95 at OEMSoftStore (http://www.oem-avenue.com/).

Well actually I work as a teacher and the copies of Xp would be used on work computers. Have you used this Oem Softstore before? What has been your experience with them?

Nope no I didnt bought it from the store as I am living in the UK, I found it (http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=Windows+xp+professional+oem&lmode=online&scoring=p&sa=N&lnk=next&start=110) from froogle.com for information shaker718 are asking for sub $70 price range he is look for. I wasnt sure about how legal that site are, I thought it was fake at first but when I looked through OEM-avenue.com at SiteAdvisor.com (http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/oem-avenue.com), they found nothing wrong with the site as they are testing email with the site now.

If your school or district has a site license for MS products, you may be entitled to a copy of XP for free. Ask your IT people what form of Microsoft Licensing they use.
