Clive Barker's Jericho (Coming late 2007 for PC & Next-Gen consoles)

Clive Barker's Jericho deals with the mysterious reappearance of a lost city in a remote desert. When a form of evil that goes right back to the dawn of days resurfaces from there, a Special Forces squad, trained in both conventional warfare and the arcane arts, is sent in. Their mission: Hunt down and destroy the evil that lurks at the heart of the city before it destroys humanity. "Players will constantly be given new challenges, new environments, and yes, new horrors and abominations to face every step of the way," continues Barker. “However, unlike a conventional game in which the characters are attempting to escape at the end of their ride through Hell, our protagonists have a much more difficult task. The closer they come to the end of their trek into darkness, the nearer they get to the source of that darkness: Evil Incarnate, we'll call it for now..."

One of the reasons I am so interested in this game is because of Clive Barker's Undying game.
Undying is one of the scariest games I have ever played.
It's to bad it never got the attention it deserved.

Looks pretty creepy. I enjoyed Undying as well. Good game :)

Hopefully this one has some similar exploration\adventure elements and isnt just a straight first person shooter.

Looks kind of like the FEAR engine, doesn´t it? Doesn´t look like UE3 but what do I know. Either way, it looks very exciting. :p

Cool, I just ordered Undying a couple of days ago based on more than one recommendation that it was an underrated game. It would be nice to have another Clive Barker game to look forward to when I finish that.:)

The story for this sounds pretty sweet too.

Sweet, I've beat Undying once, and was to afraid to finish it a second time.

Only game that has ever scared me.

From Gamespot.

Clive Barker's Jericho sets you somewhere in northern Africa, in a walled city which is not just a walled city but walls within walls within walls. Like Russian dolls, spaces within each other, and trapped inside each space is a slice of time where the warriors of good have gone against ultimate evil and have lost. The first battles encountered on the quest are against relatively modern imprisoned soldiers, while further in are World War I infantrymen, Crusaders and other warriors, each drawn from an earlier historical era than the last.

Looks more like an enhanced PK engine to me, kinda sounds a bit like it too.

Why the hell are we talking about a game that's supposed to be released late 2007? Jeez, I believe in looking a little ahead but not quite that far.

Its already the 3rd quarter of 2006... late 2007 is a bit over one year away.

Besides, you werent even talking about it. Everyone else was. If that bothers you, go talk about something more "present". :D

Probably because it was just anounced yesterday. Some of us apprecaite it when others share the news we have missed.

Clive Barker ownz me!

I can't wait for this one, Undying being my favourite FPS, and me being a fan of Horror FPSs in general. :bleh:

I just hope it's as good as Undying was. I just want story and gameplay.

From what I read, Clive Barker was only a part of the production team of Undying, but he is right behind this game this time.

And since everyone says that Undying is one of the scariest games, than this is very good news, no?

Yeah, you're right. That is what i've heard too. Although the game turned out amazing (IMO), and the story must have been influenced by him. And the atmosphere too.

BTW, Clive Barker does the voice of Jeremiah in the game.

I seem to recall reading that he liked what he saw in Undying while it was under development, so he got involved to help with the story.
