hi all,

please someone help me.

i am trying to program using Ogre. In order for me to do this, i need Direct3D9. So, i downloaded the Direct3D9 SDK.

but when i run any Ogre apps, i am getting an exception "Direct3D Device Not Found".

so, i ran dxdiag, and it tells me that "Direct3D9 functionality is not available".

its doing my nut. why is it saying this? its on my machine, i can see it!

could it be my graphics card/driver? i have an Acer 1362 laptop (quite old) and the Display Adapter shown in Device Manager is Via/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP. I have installed the latest drivers just now, but still get the same problem.

i would really appreciate any help here.

Assuming you're talking about the Ogre 3D API, your video card isn't going to support it. Here (http://www.ogre3d.org/wiki/index.php/Hardware) is the Wiki for the software suite and right at the top of the page it lists what hardware is supported. Looks like you're out of luck.
