long cables

hi!

I swapped cables with longer ones (7m) and when system starts, i am not allowed to run any resolution setting higher than 1024x768. I also tried booting with old cables and swapping with longer after and it worked on 1600x1200. Can anyone tell me how to set up xorg.conf to manually override those settings ? See attached file bellow. I have quadro fx 3500 running ubuntu 6.06.

You could try removing the lower resolutions from that file. I've done it for you below but if it stops your computer working then I offer no responsibility for any damages.

Note: The only available resolutions now are:

2048x1536
1800x1440
1600x1200


Hope it works but I'm not promising anything.
