I will go for the long shot and say a live action movie announcement but most likely it will be a demo release date.

I'm guess that they will announce that the game went gold last month and is currently in stores and that they sure pulled a fast one on us all!

Or an unlockable jAkUp character! Who knows what relationships he formed with Epic since his great interview with Sweeney. :eek: They'll be making a jab at Valve if they dress him up in Gordon Freeman's suit and name the character "jAkUp Freeman". ;)

It's definatly a demo. They wouldn't make this big of a hubub about going gold. Maybe if it had a demo along with it, but gold just isn't "make everyone hold their breath" worthy in my opinion

If you check their message board, one poster says "Well a release date announcement has to happen at some time with any game" and the VP says, "Sounds like maybe the announcement that is going to be made isn't what you think it is". A demo would be nice, but it won't happen. Ferguson confirmed that there will be no pre-release demos at all. With all these facts, it's most likely not only a release date, but a very early release date. Gone gold would be insane, but it's very unlikely.

epic has a history of doing demos before the game is released. maybe a release date and a gears demo? that would be nice

Not when the epic head comes out and says there will be no pre-release demos at all. He confirmed this on both IGN and 1UP.

Perhaps that the game is comming to PC? I doubt it but it could be possible. Hopefully its a gone gold announcment.
