It probably is. :D

Anyway, I wonder how heavy that Chaintech FX is... Won't this card break in towercases??

It glows in the dark too :)

The ATI picture you posted is fake thus I don't consider it to be freaky :)

That Chaintech is seriously bad-assed! I think I'd swallow all me insulting FX words just to put that puppy in me rig!

The ATI card with the empty tape holder on it is kind of lame though, especially since this is the first FX card that actually looks half-way decent.

Let's not crap on the good FX threads shall we? These good folks have really been thru enough already. :)

only problem with Chaintech FX is that it is supposed to be INSIDE the comp.......

well I would certainly invest in a nice case window mod with a mirror @ an angle to view the underside of my card :)

that thing does look well nice but 2 fans ?

hmm... well would have to test the card out first..

btw did anyone verify that picture was REAL and not just a pre-printed cardboard shot like some others I have seen recently?

does anyone know if this new Chaintech cooling design will be any quieter than the standard GFFX? If so, this could be the GFFX savior if it's priced right
Still waiting to see what Gainward has planned too ;)

as for the R9900 pic, I definetly think it's a fake. ATI would be very foolish to fall into the same trap as Nvidia, and furthermore that PCB design itself is so strange! Third of all, I dont think the R9900 has even left the paper yet ;)

-Dual Gas Turbine Technology Fans
-Cyclone TSC

That DOESN'T sound quiet to me hehehe :D
Who came up with those names hehe

But if you look closely, the fans seem to have very low CFM.
(Like those on the HD coolers)

Chaintech FX81 Apogee

The cooling solution provides better cooling than NVIDIAīs FX Flow reference cooler and produces a low noise of around 30db. Case-Modders will be pleased to see the integrated blue LEDīs. The cooler is not yet complete. The final version will have a blow-channel to the front panel of the case where the warm air is able to leave the case (or in the opposite way). The cooler also sucks warm air out of the case to lower its overall internal temperature. Prices are not final yet but Chaintech promised that the feature bundled FX81 Apogee wonīt be more expensive than the cards of their cometitors.

i thought the geforcefx ultra was dead????!!! im just confused now.

That's pretty cool looking, but too bad good looks won't make it perform any better.

it looks like one of those gerbil mazes that you would find in pets mart when the card is inside the case...

Looks very nice. Too bad we will never see the Ultra version in retail. That is too much stuff for a card that would end up being slower then the 9700 (non-ultra)

Now if they can just start putting the pretty cooling on the other side of the card, so I can actually see it through my case window... ;)

oh! thats pretty easy to do...

just place a mirror in the bottom of your case ,and you will be
able to see the lights of your geforcefx from the top of your case.
(if you have a window of course)

btw.. anyone can mod their case pretty easily ,without any expertise or experience.. just replace the side of your case
with acrylic .

visit any car glasses repair shop ,with the side of your case..
at tell them you want and acrylic with that size..

later atach the acrylic to your case with some electric carpenter
tools.. just use your creativity and imagination.
