Hi,
I have a XFX Geforce 6600 PCIE in my AMD athlon 64 3200 with asus a8n-sli deluxe and a CTX Flat panel monitor (S762G). I upgraded the driver for the geforce to Forceware 9.1.3.1 today and the DVI stopped working. When I use the menu on the monitor to change it to DVI, it says "DVI not detected" and then it autodetects VGA because I have that connected also because this happened once before (without installing a new driver) and so I left the VGA cord in just in case. However, before when this happened I was able to right click on the NVIDIA Settings button in the bottom right toolbar and change the "Nvidia Display" and it would connect to DVI. Now, though, when I go to "Nvidia Display" it just says "Analog Display". Something strange is also happening though. First of all, when I right click on the NVIDIA Settings button in the bottom right toolbar, the screen goes blank for a second (but I'm guessing this shouldn't be a problem as this has happened to me before when I use VGA). Second, and much more weird, is that when I play Battlefield 2, the "hardware connected" sound occurs as if I plugged in an external hard disk...and when I right click on the desktop and go to "Nvidia Display" again, "Chuntex/CTX S762G" is the option that is there and not "Analog Display". Hoping that this solved my problem I have tried changing the monitor to DVI again by using the monitor menu but it still says "DVI not detected" and then autodetects the VGA again. It's all very weird, I hope someone can help me out, Thanks, Matt.
p.s. I've seen many ppl doing nvidia-bug-report.log files, is this something I should do? and if so...how?
