Great job...the 7600 line is perhaps the single most impressive line of cards I've ever seen/used. It's ridiculous to think that a pair of these embarasses the previous generation's top of the line and these are a midrange card. I love 'em. :)

But anyway, awesome job as usual...very well written. :thumbsup:

There's definitely a fan in there. It's not quite as loud as some stock coolers, but it is certainly louder than my old Zalmans. There's a little more information in this thread (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=70724).

I just placed an order for this card yesterday. I selected same day shipping, but since they don't ship on weekends I should have it monday. I'll report what I think of it. If I REALLY like it, I'll order a second one next friday. ;)

I know this is a bit old thread but I have this card and was looking for another one to try out the SLI mode with dual cards. Problems is NOBODY has them anymore apparently. So my question is this.......


Can I run this card with the straight NX7600GT-VT2D256E
in lieu of another NX7600GT-VT2D256E-HD. Will they be compatible or did SLI require exactly the same specifics? I could "underclock" the HD version to match the non-HD version correct?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As long as the GPUs are the same with the same amount of memory it should run OK. However, it will set the memory clocks at the lower memory speed of the two cards in most cases. I had two 6800GS cards one of which was factory overclocked. I was able to overclock the vanilla card to the overclocked card's memory speeds and it worked well.

Yes, in fact, this is the card that I used in SLi mode with the HD. Here is the review of the non-HD version (http://www.nvnews.net/reviews/msi_geforce_nx7600gt/index.shtml) of the card. The cards have matching stock clock and memory speeds. I was able to do SLi without any issues.
