View Full Version : Replacing DFI chipset fan with water cooling system

I am not sure if replacing dfi chipset fan with water cooler can be done. haven't look out on wtare cooler system.

anyone have any idea? if it is possible, any recommended brand (model too)?

Yes it can be done, if your running SLI though it can be a little tricky :) DD makes some good chipset blocks.

hmm...not running any sli so shouldn't be a problem.

Danger Den DFI Expert water block in case you want SLI some time :p

I used a MIPS DFI Freezer for a while. It definitely cut down on noise in my system, but was a PITA to swap out video cards, becaus eyou can't remove them without disconnecting tubign on the chipset block. This can be difficult especially on the boards with only a single slot space between the GPUs. Also, sometimes bits of coolant leak out on your components during the process.

I am under the impression that the chipset loop should be seperate from the GPU loop if you swap out video cards often.
