Is that source reliable?
I find it incredibly hard to believe that Intel onboard video actually has a very large margin of market share larger than Ati and close to that of nvidia.

Can someone tell me why this is?
Are a majority of people on this planet smoking something?
Even for purely 2D graphics I would not use onboard video, I would use a cheap Matrox G200 or G400.

Although ATi has gained a lot of success of late, you have to realize there's still a fairly large amount of proprietary machines(Dell, Compaq/HP, etc...) purchased not long ago when those companies thrived on Intel's intergrated graphics solutions, found in a lot of small business' and consumer households.

Most PCs in the world are for business rather than home use. Most business PC models shipped by Dell use onboard intel video.
