This is the newer set over 1.3.2.0 version. This is 1.3.2.16...not sure what's difference. I wonder are these gonna work for Opteron ?

I will be receiving my new 4400+ tommorow and had a question.

After I install the processor Is AMD Dual-Core Optimizer a required install? ,and is there anything else you guys could recommend first time with a dual core just curious thanks guys.

Technically it's not required. I would put it on there anyway as it is supposed to help with performance and possibly stability as well. I would not install the AMD CPU driver unless you have stability problems. I leave it off my system.

usually you have to go into the device manager and uninstall the current CPU driver (under the Processor tab). then when you restart it should auto-detect the dual core CPU and load the correct multi-processor driver.

i may be wrong, you may need to insert the WinXP CD, or it may just automatically detect the CPU and update the driver.

It auto detected for me and took care of it. Didn't need to remove anything. :)
