well i manage to look some socores they range between 800 and 900 kinda crappy

i took this from a guy in matrox users...

a gf3 and a slower CPU get the same score as Parhelia?

Parhelia is somewhat of an underperformer, proving that a nice memory interface isn't everything :)

have you also notice the crappy fps on the radeon 8500 in game test 2 and 3??
I mean r200 have PS 1.4 to run it but the performance sucks. Maybe the drivers sucks or a bug in 3dmark?

how crappy is the performance of the r8500? i haven't seen any scores for it yet.

i took a brief look in the Benchmark Forum at the 3dmark03 score thread, and saw a bunch of people getting low 100s. i was surprised my score was so "high."

What I find interesting are the cpu scores. Thats with an AthlonXP 1800+ @1800;

vs my crappy Duron600 OC to 900
CPU Test 1: 22.0 fps
CPU Test 2: 2.8 fps

you can see the poor number, also take a look at ragtoll test the CPU score higher than 9000/8500.

they said that they have tried to stress the video card and take away as much as possible the influence on the scores by the rest of the system like previous 3dmark...

maybe they manage to do it...

regarding 8500 and 9000 performance ive been told that cause might be becausethey use cards with 64mb of ram and these test uses a lot more so textures were loaded from main memory hence the huge slowdown on fps....

I need to update my scores, I just ran 3dmark again thinking my score was too low, double checked FSAA+Aniso were off.
Ive now turned in a score of 1022 :eek: but what is more interesting is that my cpu has changed slightly, you can see me previous score above.

Now, on my Duron600@900

CPU Test 1: 22.6
CPU Test 2: 4.4

Not really that much difference between an OC Duron600@900 vs an AthlonXP1800+ @1800 :wtf:

Perfect example how useless 3DMark03 is.. as a benchmark :rolleyes:

Sure it benchmarks video card only , but no todays games nor future ones will be only Graphics card only dependant ;)

CPU+Memory will always play big role in games :o
