What's a "clint?"
"client" maybe?

I know some aren't happy with Azureus, but utorrent doesn't have a mac version I'm aware of.

Damn, really? I was hopping to find one without the need for java. It doesnt' have to be utorroent. Just something simple and small (and without java).

Any other suggestions?

hey what's the best torrent client?

I am currently using Tomato Torrent. Not full featured like Azureus, but it's the best I've found so far...

I use Azareus. But it's a huge memory hog.

I'll second the tomato torrent. Simple and reliable.

I just use BitTorrent from www.bittorrent.com

I find it to be a good, easy to use, program.

I use Transmission (http://transmission.m0k.org/) - unless you need the advanced functions Azureus it's the best choice (if you're using the official bittorrent client, then you should switch right now).

Another Transmission user here. It's quick and simple. If you don't care about creating torrent files, it's the best.

I've been using Azureus for a while now.. only reason is that it has queue, resume, etc, unlike the original bittorrent client, which always crashed on me.

It's stable, but it is a huge resource/memory hog.. and it's java which sucks..

I'm gonna check out Transmission right now, thanks for the tip guys.

EDIT: wow, it works great! loads instantly, torrents connect quickly.. excellent! :)

oh man i've been using the official client forever now

going to switch to transmission

I use either transmission OR azerus.

Anyone have a particular site that they like to download from or through???

wow thanks for the heads up on transmission!
way better than the official client and i'm no longer a power user, so azureus is a waste of resources...thanks again!

I'm not that familiar with the *nix environment OSX is based on, but if it can run Wine she can use uTorrent through that. But that's awfully complicated, so I would also suggest Tomato Torrent - not many features, but not anywhere near the resource hog that Azureus is.

Besides, who would want to go through the trouble of installing VMWare and Windows (both pieces of software you have to pay for, by the way) just to use a BitTorrent client when there are plenty of good, free ones for OS X?

Here's an interesting concept: Why not just run windows? PC's are much cheaper than macs, and they support all of your favorite software so that you don't have to go around looking for alternative versions of everything which suck in comparison.

Because some of us use Macs for work. And why the hell should you care how others decide to spend their money?

I love my mac. Almost more than pc/windows.
If macs could game as well as windows then i would never use windows again. ever.
for now, ill stick with dualbooting.

but on topic:

use transmission or vuze for mac, and stick with utorrent for windows.
utorrent for mac is in the works, so just stick it out for a bit and wait.

*shrug* just pointing out that there is a lower cost solution which works better :D
