I'm a bit confused, the inquirer claims they were getting anywhere from 3-5000+ points in 3D06, now Tom's basically saying the new drivers suck balls and are being beat by both the 7900 GTX and ATI 1900XT. Read the review here (http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/08/07/get_quad_sli_before_it_is_hatched/index.html). According to them, were losing points and frames by going Quad, not gaining them :thumbdwn: Apparently, they're they exact same ones as the 91.37's just WHQL, and those beta drivers didn't do crap but fix wmp. In the review, Quad only won around 3 games vs the 7900 GTX SLI, and even mroe shocking, the Falcon 7900 Quad SLI smoked the 7950 GX2 Quad SLI, in some games up to 40 fps.

I guess I've been a little confused as to why you thought we were getting a much improved driver sometime soon. I thought the Inq was just excited about the latest driver b/c they actually got Quad-SLI working. With previous drivers they had a lot of problems. He mentioned all of that right (everything working, a lot of improvement etc.) when the 91.37s were released so I figured he was just talking about them.

The 91.33's are WHQL, I wonder what he means they'll hit the 9th, Inquirer said the monster drivers would also be available then. According to the review the 7950's were running off the 91.29's. I hope this is true, and the drivers tomorrow actually deliver the power we've all been waiting for.

Do you have a link for where the Inq talks about the "monster" driver?

This is why http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=33452 "You gain quite some performance and we will give you more details about the performance of the beast later. It is faster than Conroe and a single 7950 GX2, that's for sure"

NP, I'm just confused becuase Inq says it' delivers the power and will be available tomorrow, yet Tom's says it does jacksh*t and also comes out tomorrow.
