I had a quick question. I have a 19" LCD screen with a native resolution of 1280x1024 and its hooked up through my dvi port on my geforce 6800. My question is when you go into the forceware drivers control panel and select the digital flat screen option that says "fixed aspect ration scaling", should my desktop have little black bars on the top and bottom if I set it down to a resolution of 1024x768 instead of 1280x1024? Or will this only affect my screen when I'm in a game at 1024x768 or something? My monitor is an Acer 1916asd.

fixed aspect scalling will keep the picture in its correct aspect ratio all the time

be it either 5:4, 4:3 or 16:10, 16:9

1280x1024 is 5:4, while 1024x768 is 4:3

yes there should be bars

Okay, thanks for the answer. I thought I selected that option the other day and nothing on my desktop changed...but maybe I did something wrong. I'll try it again when I get home and see if it works correctly and if I get the bars indicating that the aspect ratio is being maintained.
