i was wondering if anybody could help me with choosing the drivers that could play back videos with my agp bfg 6600gt...
aren't the new 91.45 drivers suppose to work? i start a video and my computer just goes nuts....:(

i'm using a AMD64 3000+ on a asus k8v with 768mb of ram.
could any1 suggest a set of drivers that fix this or know the problem.
kthx

All the 91.xx series might as well be considered beta. Most of them aren't even designed for all NVIDIA cards. Especially the 91.45 which are made for Quad SLI.

Try out the 84.56 ForceWare drivers. They are a nice and stable set.

For the record, I am currently using the 91.45 drivers. But they require a modded inf to support any other card than 7950. Being that my 6600GT are Pci express and not AGP, compatibility could make a world of difference. So even though I haven't noticed any video problems, I can't really recommend them to you.

wmv videos take up a lot of processor time on systems having a graphics card that doesn't support WMV9 Decode Acceleration. And unfortunately, from the looks of it, the AGP version of 6600GT is one of those.

See http://www.nvidia.com/page/purevideo_support.html

WMV9 Decode Acceleration does not appear under AGP 6600GT, but it does under the PCI Express 6600GT.

Only thing I could suggest is trying a more efficient decoder. Perhaps Windows Media Player 11 (beta) will play those videos back a little smoother for you.
