Hi there
Installed my new 7950GX2 and notice that both Shader 3 AND AA/AF are enabled.
On my previous card it was one or the other, not both.
Anyone else with a 7950GX2 experiencing this and is it normal ??

cheers

The 7950GX2 supports all of the features you mentioned, which is normal. Your previous graphics card may not have supported Shader Model 3.0.

You're sure it was one or the other on your old one? It may have been that it was AA and no SM3.0 or no AA and no SM3.0. If the card supported SM3.0 it should support AA at the same time.

Unless you're confusing SM3.0 with HDR...you can't use them both together on older cards...

Who's complaining ??? Not me !! I agree with yu.

My old card was a 7800GTX. I'm sure that it was AA or SM3 but not both at the same time with that card
Perhaps the game is having trouble recognising the card ??
I'm using 91.31 drivers. Perhaps I'll try 91.33 or 91.45

Can yu have AA and SM3 at the same time on newer cards ??

cheers and thanks for responding

You can have AA and SM3 on at the same time on all cards that support SM3...so from Geforce 6 series and newer.

I have 2 7800GTX's and SM3 works fine with AA. It's HDR lighting that doesn't work with AA.

Appreciate you clearing that up for me.
I must have been getting myself confused with something else

ATI cards for HDR/AA...yay for ATI thinking ahead this time..compared to GF6 SM3.0 by nvidia last time...even on the 7950..sigh../shakes fist @ nvidia...then cools his hands off from the 7950GX2 heat....its winter in AUS..its very cold :(

but it's pointless since HDR + AA isn't even possible for ATi cards in SC CT ; Ubi would have to patch the game to make it possible ; which they haven't done.
