If these slides are real, then ATI is in for a world of hurt until their R600 hits.

Looks good but it's a DX9 part. This probably means that the G80 won't be release until the end of Q4 or maybe Q1 of 07.

I was hoping to see the G80 in September or October. I am ready to replace my system but I am holding off on the upgrade because I want a G80:D

I wouldnt expect the G80 to come this year actually even before reading this .. my bet is Q1-2007.

I think I am probably going to buy my conroe setup and hold on to my 6600 until a DX10 card comes around.

Core 550mhz, Memory 1400mhz, 512MB vram and 24 pipelines for $299. Great card and impressive price/performance ratio but I´m still waiting for the G80.

Does this mean they are going to phase out the 7900GT ?

If so I wouldn't complain. In fact, I might scrap the idea of a single 7950 and get two of these instead. I really like how they are single slot as well.

I have a new system just sitting here collecting dust as I try to decide which vcards to stuff in it. I was planning on waiting for G80, but I might just drop two of these in there to tide me off. I'm sure two of these would come close to two GTXs. In fact, it might match the performance of the GTX with a slight OC.

Very interesting card indeed.

I think someone over and nvidia dropped the 7950GX2 and when it broke in into two cards...he went.."Hey..lets sell them seperate..at higher clock speeds"

I just got word from the work that we will be getting the Final Vista arround Nov.- Dec. So i predict that the G80 will be out arround November :)
If Vista is there the G80 and the R600 will be there.

Not anything special you can get a X1900XT for <300 which is faster than the 7950gt

or a X1800XT for $200 which is damn close

I second that. What's so special about this thing? A 1900XT will outperform it for 50$ more. It has higher clock speeds on both (625/1450)

Single slot, less power, quieter...

the current rumor is for Vista to be RTM by October 25th, meaning ONLY businesses will get it soon after. The consumer version will NOT be ready until after the new year. RC1 is going to be out at the end of August; and we're (us beta testers) are getting a new build tomorrow.

This card seems kind of pointless, they already have 7900gts with 512 memory on them now, and there around the same price.

Nah, vista has another 4+ months of development imho, unless they want to release something buggy and slow, if you think that its ready for october, you havnt tried any of the betas

Meh. I'd rather get two of these 7900GTs in SLI for $100 more.

Uhm, the 1900XT is a single-slotter. As for less power and being quieter, you may be right, but it also underperforms compared to the 1900XT. I think the main selling-point of graphics cards with enthusiasts is "which one is stronger?"

This card seems useless. Especially since they just came out with a 512MB 7900GT.

Can you say graphics-card overload? Make one or two damn models and be done with it; it starts to get repetitive after a while.
