Wow that guy is rediculously good...

My brother and I play a lot of racing games and neither of us are anywhere near that good... and we've been playing them since the atari days.

That game looks pretty good too. For some reason I remember not liking it though... maybe from a demo. I'm not sure.

Wow. That guy has some serious skills.

It would be cool if you could buy a "simulator machine thing" for certain games. It would be cool.

Naaaw I'm better than that guy, he's all over the place, not bad though. I've got near that setup minus the dual display but add head tracking a buttkicker and a better keyboard. The feedback that buttkicker gives in LFS is awesome.

A...buttkicker? I'm almost afraid to ask, but what is this strange device you speak of?

I think its a special low frequency subwoofer which makes you "feel" the sound effects.

That guy is a good driver but L4S isnīt necessarly the hardest drifting game either. Now if he would drift like that in GTR(1), which has a less predictable (and sometimes strange) tire model and worse feedback, then I would be really impressed.

Spoken of L4S, donīt you love the new skies??

Impressive visuals for an engine thats basically DX8 IIRC.

best set-up seen was that crazy rally simulator roll-cage. it cost about 5-10k, they showed it off while playing Burns game.

I just looked around that LFS forum screenshot section. This game doesn't really look that great. How does it play? I would probably play it with gamepad, don't have place where to mount a wheel.

Can someone point me to some good screenshots on max settings?

Looks good enough! (nana2)

It's all in the gameplay, physics and the overall feeling of driving ;) LFS is the best and the smartest racing simulator on the market.

Yeah it's a silent subwoofer that's used to create ultra low bass down to 5hz. For racing games I turn off the highpass filter so it gets a full signal and you can feel every bump, every RPM rev and every crash. When you run over the little markers along the side of tracks you can feel running over each little bump.

I would agree LFS doesn't have the best looking graphics but the physics are top notch. I do prefer rFactor and would say that rFactor has better-best physics and graphics as well as 6DOF headtracking like LFS, GTR & GTL.

I've seen that video of the little motion quadpod feedback thing running Richard Burns. I still want one of those but yeah there like $5-10k

so whats better? live for speed or rFactor?

Never tried rFactor, although StevePMo on these forums has posted quite a few impressive screenies in the screenshot thread. But i have been an LFS fan since the early days. One thing i like about it is that it does not install anything in the registry. You simply unzip it to a directory and run it ( great for when you need to reformat etc as you can just back it up to another disk/partition ).
download and try the demo.... www.liveforspeed.net

Live for Speed is WAY BETTER THEN nFactor.
