WOOO!

The transfer market doesn't seem to be as red hot as it used to be, but yet there are a lot of deals that have happened on the sly. I remember when transfer market season was like christmas, but maybe I'm just getting old :p

Bookies odds for the title

Chelsea 1/2
Man Utd 5/1
Liverpool 6/1
Arsenal 13/2

In reality, with liverpools new purchases I think Liverpool will push Chelsea a lot closer this season. Morinhio has stripped his squad down and brought in champions league players like Ballack and Schevchenko. This says to me where their focus is. Liverpool on the other hand have made the buy of the season with Bellamy at 6 million who WILL bang in around 20, Dirk Kyut a fantastic player, Pennant and Gomez for pace and QUALITY on the wings. On top of the already fantastic side we had, with a strong back 4 and a solid midfield (Sissoko, Alonso, Gerrard). Not forgetting Robbie Fowler for that extra option in the last 30 mins.

Man Utd have Henzie returning which is the same as having a new player essentially, their defence will be more sure. Scholes back is also a huge boost for midfield, with carrick in there too. However they could struggle for goals without Ruud this season.

Arsenal are practically the same team they were last year, but with a new stadium, they still have Henry so they're a threat, but their players are still a little young.

I dunno why we are 2nd favs..yes we have nearly...nearly sorted the midfield...but lack of goals is what I fear will be our undoing...we have Rooney...Ole...Rossie and sicknote...I mean Saha...I wish we could have gotten someone like Torres..maybe Tristan to partner Rooney but, doesn't look like it. So even 2nd maybe a bonus for us..I am thinking we are going to be fighting for euro places next season. Saha may prove me wrong..but..

Yeah I'd flip the odds and have Liverpool second, Man Utd third and Arsenal... well they need a run of form like they had a couple of years back, otherwise I see them struggling like last season.

Arsenal FTW!! I hope Ashley Cole goes though. He doesnt want to play for us anymore.

woohoo! about time, footie is back! :D

every Saturday we get a triple-header (2 live games, 1 taped). i have no real rooting interests, but i cheer against Chelsea (too rich), and Man U (unless they're up against Chlsea) but i don't mind the other top contenders. i'll root for either Arsenal or Liverpool. as for the other games not involving the "main" teams, i generally cheer for the team lower in the standings.

it's also a happy time now that the Bundesliga has started up again .... but Serie A? hmm, i don't know how interested i'll be when Italian footie starts up again, ie, since they are so damn corrupt, and seemingly unwilling to clean up the game.

Liverpool has a troubling tendency to play below par especially when it counts. The red devils on the other hand do have a decent team so we'll see.

Sy, I dunno bout Bellamy netting 20 m8. I would love to see Mellor get an extended run and do some damage. Wanna see more local lads bangin in the goals and getting the glory :D

BRING BACK MACCA !!!

Dude Mellor is sub par and won't break first team. There are younger guys like Warnock and in the League Cup Benetez does blood the youths. Lots of promise there, but Bellamy and Kyut are two awesome buys.

Kuyt, from what I saw in the world cup... SUCKS DONKEY BALLS !!!

Mellor's confidence is shot IMO. He needs a run in the first team and a coupla goals.

Nice to see "God" get a goal today though :)

Fowler is a great guy to have around. He will always get goals, no matter where he goes. He's quality, plain and simple.

And Reading beat Middlesbrough after going 2-0 down, Sheff Utd hold Liverpool.

What a weird season this looks to be.

Everyone wants to "do a Wigan" so the first games aren't much to go by.

Out of all the new teams, i want Watford to stay up. In Arsenals case, if we think we can win the title by drawing with teams like Villa at home, we are having a laugh.

Theo Walcott is going to be good. Hope Wenger gives him more chances this year.

Yeah, Hargreaves aint gonna happen, but with Carrick Man Utd should really concentrate on a striker IMO.

And Mascherano. I think they are using West ham as a shop window to showcase their talents.
