Hi guys
I'm having a real hard time trying to understand what settings I should have enabled for the following entries in the Control Panel:

Hardware Acceleration
Multi-GPU Performance mode

I am running a 7950GX2 with one monitor. I have multi-GPU mode enabled in 3D Settings/Set Multi-GPU configuration.

Could one of you guys who are running a single 7950GX2 with one monitor be so kind as to give me some advice on what the above 2 modes should be set to.
I was under the impression that with only the 1 card that single-GPU mode should be used for both.

Thank you in advance

cheers

uninstall the driver, install the driver again, adn don't ever chance those setttings again, or your performance will be affected

uninstall the driver, install the driver again, adn don't ever chance those setttings again, or your performance will be affected

But then yu don't have the ability to set AA/AF, as the CP comes with "application control" as the default.
Not all games have the option to set AA/AF within the game

Surely there must be some settings yu can change without affecting performance

i agree, kinda makes most of the driver useless & loses a lot of the functionality of the card itself.

you can change those, don't mess with multi-gpu, single display/dual

I don't know what would've given you that impression, considering the GX2 has two GPUs on it.

Leave it on multi-GPU.

Yes, I have multi-GPU enabled under "multi-GPU configuration".
When I mentioned single-GPU, I was referring to the options available under Hardware Acceleration and Multi-GPU Performance mode.
When yu look at the options available there are no "multi-GPU" choices

I'm running 91.31

He means i think in the sli settings..

I note yu have a 7950GX2.
Do yu mean under 3D Settings/Performance/Set Multi-GPU configuration settings as, if yu look in the Control Panel, there are no references to SLI at all....well in the 91.31 anyway when running just the 1 7950GX2.

If yu compare a SLI setup's C/P against a multi-GPU ( read 7950GX2) the biggest difference is under 3D Settings/Manage 3D Settings where it has SLI Performance mode compared to Multi-GPU perfomance mode for the 7950GX2

What i mean is like the under driver settings ie AA/AF..etc..There is Multi-GPU..this is usually where you get enable SLI/Quad SLI stuff i assume..what i am pointing out is the sli rendering modes AFR/SFR/AFR2....but yea dont touch this -.-

I think the way GX2 works is Multi-GPU and then Single GPU in the sli profile bit..options..w/e its called.

Well what I have ended up doing is:

3D Settings/Performance/Set Multi-GPU configuration : Multi-GPU mode

3D Settings/Manage 3D Settings :
Hardware acceleration: Single Display perfromance mode
Multi-GPU Performance mode: Auto

So far all seesm well.
I ran the FEAR in-game performance test and compared to my previous card (7800GTX) I got approx 30% increase in FPS.
Other games ( Ran Splinter Cell & SC:Pandora Tomorrow...older games as a test..and they look very nice and run without any crashing)

Gotcha, sorry.

You're running the right drivers. I'd stick with the 91.31's unless they start to give you serious problems. Guys are having all kinds of bugs with anything that's come out after those.

I ran the 91.31's and my GX2 ran all my games great when I had it.

I don't mean to look like a spoon-fed baby, but which ones do I down load ??

or

cheers and thanks for yur patience

I think I may have answered my own question.....for a 7950GX2 it's the non-g-sync drivers ???
Can someone plse confirm ??
