View Full Version : 20th Anniversary Macintosh (TAM)
How much would you guys think it's worth now?? I tried to look for a price on eBay and couldn't find anything. Only about 10,000 units were made. Physically in quite decent condition, especially considering how old it is now.
please let me know.
Good question. Usability value of under $100... collector's value could be close to a grand, I would guess.
Edit: This is only speculation. I have no idea, really.

People use macintoshes for things other than paperweights?

TAMs sell for $600 USD up to $1400, depending on condition. If you still have the original pen & pencil set, remote control, modem, fat back cover, and PCI+commslot risers, you should get over $1000 (http://cgi.ebay.com/Twentieth-20th-Anniversary-Macintosh-TAM-In-Box_W0QQitemZ140016883819QQihZ004QQcategoryZ51046Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem). More if you've never had the buzziong problem, upgraded to a G3, have a larger HD, and maxed the RAM, and have all the pieces.
If it's not functioning as a computer, then you can easily part it out and make well over $100 in separate auctions. Base bass/PSUs go for around $50 (http://cgi.ebay.com/TWENTIETH-ANNIVERSARY-MAC-BASE-UNIT-TAM-20th-Macintosh_W0QQitemZ260017607761QQihZ016QQcategoryZ 80072QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem), as are keyboards. Heck, I'd give you $50 for the keyboard. The main units have gone for $250-400 in the last year on eBay.
