I currently have a system with an A64 X2 4200+ and a GeForce 7900GT. I'm looking at ditching it in favor of a Core2 E6600 or E6700. I know they run at 2.4GHz and 2.66GHz, respectively, but they'll both run circles around my X2. The E6600 looks like the better choice at about 60% the cost of the E6700. Anyone else getting rid of their outdated X2s or Pentium Ds?

id save the money for next gen video cards, thatll give you a much better performance increase than the C2D

Outdated? lol
Core2duo are some nice cpu's but they hardly run circles around the x2's. That is unless you game at 800x600. At the re's most of us play at its still faster but hardly worth the hoopla that some give it imo. I'm not flaming anyone, since if I was building a new system from scratch right now I would go with C2D for sure but to upgrade to it...nah. I will wait for the quad's to come out and then see whats what.
