View Full Version : ForceWare Vista 96.33 :D
and some of you are blind...
Another thing that really annoys me is Vista x64 won't accept drivers for my SCSI card. But Vista x86 will.
Dynamic disk functionality is messed up still.
But I will leave the rest of Vista issues for the Vista thread..
Oh BTW I got a black screen when installing these drivers. So had to install them in safe mode.

lol you make me laugh. x64 wont accept your drivers because they aren't SIGNED! That's a requirement of the OS.

The x64 driver for my SCSI card is signed by Microsoft. It's on the Windows x64 CD! (Yet searching with Device Manager won't find it). On the other hand, x86 driver isn't signed but it installs just fine. So I don't really know what you are talking about...

its x64 dude, needs Vista x64.
lol
heres a Perfect Eg.
Realtek has beta vista drivers, I chose NOT to take them but took the ones off of WinVista Update instead.
Obviously.. Which is why I said it's annoying...
For SCSI, I use Windows XP x86 driver on Vista x86. Not signed. Works fine.
But I try to install Windows XP x64 driver on Vista x64. Signed. Doesn't work. Search doesn't find the driver. It makes no sense.. If x86 driver works on x86, why won't x64 driver work on x64?
Microsoft Update is also worthless in this case.. It doesn't find anything either..

Umm, RC1, beta, umm, not signed?
Really, there are better work-arounds to your issue than whining in this forum, and you would have much better success trying one of them.
C'mon, most of us have already seen this syndrome more than once. WinMe, Win98, WinXP, etc.
Whining about a beta or RC is pointless and does nothing at all to help us that choose to run it anyway, so why not just skip screwing with this software until someone says it's safe to do so? :-)
Not meaning to sound harsh, but there are forums for reporting, and even whining about what you think about Vista. Use those, or www.kleenex.com, please.
Lets use this one to see how Vista and nVidia come together, especially regarding Sli - my own pet peeve right now :-)
Who knows, maybe one day Vista will replace XP!

Marketing a beta? You serious?
I have a bridge I could sell you at a bargain!
I think you're underestimating how much MS has riding on Vista and how much of a problem it will be for them to not get a stable working version out the door by the end of the year. BTW, I have been running Vista since the early betas and RC1 is the first release that won't even install, since I have a 7950 GX2. Even though Beta2 was a sloppy mess, I still have no problem being the guinea pig for MS. I have been participating in the Vista beta, because I want a better product. However, I do have a problem, when pushing the thing out the door on time becomes more important than the quality of the finished product. No wonder Bill Gates threw up his hands and dumped the day-to-day responsibilities of running the Vole empire.
And then we have to put up with all the blithering about DX-10 and how all our video cards should be immediately sent to a landfill, because they can't run the magical Directx 10. Now, ATI is holding back til 2007 on the R600 and nVidia is ruminating that the vaporware G80 will be mostly a DX-9 card, which also be able to do DX-10, but maybe not that well.
If you believe that Vista is anywhere near a finished product for gaming, then I've got a bridge for you.

microsoft can't make a driver for every device
blame the company that made your SCSI card.
microsoft can't make a driver for every device
That goes without saying.. But the Windows XP x64 CD has the driver for my device. I just don't understand why Vista x64 won't take it.. Vista x86 has no problems accepting the Windows XP 32-bit driver.
Umm, RC1, beta, umm, not signed?
Didn't I already say that?

Yet you mention none of them.. Your only solution seems to be "skip screwing with this software" or giving me a kleenex, which obviously is only useful to wipe my ass with..
Speaking of asses, you can stop making yourself look like one now. I've gone back to Vista x86 so this particular issue no longer applies.

Struck a nerver with the kleenex, did I?
Sorry pal, but everything I've read says that you need signed drivers with Vista64. It's also unreasonable to think that just because the XP 32bit drivers work with Vista X86, that the XP64 drivers should work with Vista64, especially figuring Vista64 obviously has more stringent driver validation requirements than Vista X86. Either way, a little reading on your part would have found several solutions, but I think skipping as I suggested is probably the best for you. :-)

bcdedit /set nointegritychecks ON
will allow you to install unsigned drivers in Vista x64, but only for the next reboot. The tool is being removed in the final version of Vista x64. The signed drivers requirement supposedly has to do with protecting hi-def video content in Vista x64.

Is there no way to get into any advanced control panel functions with this driver?
I have a 1280x720 HDTV, and I'de like to adjust the overscan but there isn't much in the way of configuration in the new control panel.

Will nvidia have an option in upcoming drivers to allow for colour correction? I can't seem to find any brightness/contrast/gamma settings in Vista. The colour management control panel applet doesn't seem to do much..

I had hoped it would be in this release, but alas, it is not. We may be lucky if nVidia release another set before RTM, but I doubt it. Heck, even at RTM I wouldnt be suprised if features such as this are still absent.
anyone know if these drivers work with the new build released last week?
