A better/faster CPU is always recommended , but you're fine.

I had the same CPU with my BFG 6800GT OC ( probably comparible to the 7600GT in performance ?)... when i changed to a A64 3200+ ( o/c to 2.6G ) it practically doubled my frames per second...

what mobo do you have? Maybe the 2.53 is OC-able... Is that a P4-C 533fsb or is it a Willamette 400fsb? Get cpu-z.

then forget about OC, next time better have someone build a computer for you.

anything with conroe, is the way to go

I'm using an AGP card (7800 GS). I recently ordered a Core 2 6400 processor and a ASROCK mobo that supports AGP and DDR memory. Both combined cost me less then 300 dollars shipped. You may want to consider going that route as well.

so in other words just do a full up grade

Really depends on what Videocard your using now. Sometimes just upgrading your CPU gives you enough of a framrate boost to where you can hold off on buying a new card. That and the DDR memory your using for your current system should work fine for now as well. The good thing about the ASROCK board is that you can upgrade to DDR2 and/or PCI-E down the road.

It's the ASROCK 775Dual-VSTA.

I have no idea what the cost over there would be or who would have it in stock and ships it to AU. It cost around 55 US dollars here.
