Well I don't really know when the Geforce 7950GT is supposed to launch but I found it in stock in a Greek e-store called Plaisio (http://www.plaisio.gr/IWCatProductPage.process?Section_Id=26174053&Nav_Section_Id=&Catalog_Id=1&Product_Id=345796&Merchant_Id=1&sts_cid=3) for 299€.

No need to wait for an Asus board imo cause they both use default cooling and have 3 years warranty.Plaisio has a better relationship with Albatron as they import directly from them.

Guys, let's face it, most cards use the nvidia default layout and heatsink, as well as capacitors etc.

My advice: buy the cheapest one and replace the HSF with something better... ;-)

Since you/we haven't seen the ASUS board yet (it isn't announced yet) I reserve my judgement about "same cooling"/clockspeed until it's on the ASUS website. Apart from that, my ASUS 6800Ultra was a single slot card, as opposed to the dual slot reference cards of that time. :) And last but not least, I've been through many MSI/Gigabyte/ASUS/XFX/Pixelview etc. nvidia boards and until now, the ASUS gfx cards are the only one (yet) that worked perfectly. That's only my experience, though.

yep :) that's what i did, good old Albatron board with reference everything, supplemented with a zalman vf-700, cheap, and works great

Is there really any point of this card? You can get 7900gts with 512mb of memory.

^ No point at all. Waste of resources.

7900gt's with 512 memory are increasing in price. They seem to be fazing out. Most are over $300 nowadays. The 7950gt will likely replace those cards. They cost less and have HDCP included.

You know what I am still happy with my G70 SLI....but if G80 SLI turns out to be significantly faster....like more than 100% with AA and AF... I might be tempted.... hehehe Of course I will.. :D

Has anybody heard what the Nvidia partners plan to clock new this card? If anybody could hit 600 on the core that would be freaking sweet.

Haven't you already sold both of your testicles for those quad sli cards?:p :D

Preoverclocked 7950GTs would be very close to 7900GTX clocks.Could this mean that 7900GTX might be phased out?

Wow if this things could really be clocked like unto the GTX's don't be surprised if I sell my card for 2 7950 gt's. EVGA all the way. I will never buy XFX again.:p
