DX10 / Direct3D10 footage of Crytek's Crysis. the both are VERY impressive IMO. the 2nd vid especially blew me away.

this almost has to be showing us what the G80 is capable of, if not the competition's R600 ????

regardless, holy ****! DX10 Crysis looks amazing. I notice a huge difference from the videos of the DX9 version. The lighting and framerate are much improved, agree ?

well we don't know exactly, but there are really only 2 seriously powerful DX10 cards that would be running this. Nvidia G80 and ATI R600, so it's probably one of the two, and maybe even an SLI or Crossfire configuration.

other GPU makers coming out with DX10 cards probably can't touch what Nvidia and ATI are offering.

anyone else wanna speculate what was running this ? Crytek said these are DX10, not DX9.

Both chips are rumored to have taped out. So it's up in the air until an nvidia or ATI insider reveals what's under the hood. I doubt Crytek would tell us, since they're under NDA.

I bet you all that Crytec have both R600 and G80 cards in house.

It might be the same old "DX10 emulation" we've seen before.
But if it's the real deal I bet it's the R600, ATI and Crytek share the same bed. :p

If I was a betting person and I am, I would say it's running on ATI hardware. ATI stickers where all over the boxes running Crysis at E3. Not to mention when I asked what hardware they where running they told me Crossfire on FX60's @ E3

All these videos are the same thing we've been seeing for months. It's gorgeous none the less, but old. This is still DX9 btw. They have not released any videos of DX10, even if it's said that they have.

I think so also. It's most likely ATI hardware.

I am betting that you are wrong. they specifically said it was DX10 this time, whereas months ago, they said it was still DX9. I would think that by the August-September timeframe, Crytek would have ATI R600 and Nvidia G80, if these GPUs are launching late 2006 or very very early 2007.

DX10, nVidia/Ati hardware...Pfft.

I just hope I get more than "5fps with Quad-SLI" that others are reporting...

Then again, 5fps is probably just a rumor... wow, imagine that.

the framerates of the DX10 footage looked smooth. above 30fps.

Yes, this is DX10 footage, Crytek said so.

However, I am unsure if it is actually running in realtime on actual hardware though.

Damn... looks amazing and seems to be running much better than it was in previous vids.

Impressive stuff.
