help needed with splinter cell demo

in the readme of splinter cell it says in the video card setting;s to do this " Very important: set performance & quality settings to application." can someone tell me how i do this and where this setting is on my system?

I think that just means to set everything according to how fast your system. Just set you stuff in the game just like any other game. It runs pretty good on my system at max IQ settings with Quincunx. I sure can't say the same thing about Unreal 2. I can run that game at max settings but with no FSAA or Aniso. Just too sluggish with those two on.

It probably means the Nvidia control panel applet in the newer drivers for "Performance & Quality Settings" (for me it's right under Nview, running the 42.86 driver set). I guess I should've red the readme, 'cause I leave it set to "Balanced" by default (possible settings are "Application", "Balanced" and "Aggressive").
