hi!
i am experiencing quite annoying tearing when playing any video file (.avi,.mpg,...) with a 7900GT and a samsung 940bw. i read on another forum that this is a known problem, so any word on when nvidia will fix it?
the guy that posted there also said there was a workaroundby selecting either overlay mixer or VMR7, the only problem is i dont know where to change those settings.
any help would be greatly appreciated!

In Windows Media Player ( assuming that's what you're using ), click on the Tools Menu-->Options-->Performance tab-->Advanced button.

Tick the "Use Video Mixing Renderer" and click the "Use High Quality Mode" tick boxes and it should just work.

thanks! works like a charm!
still, i prefer light alloy over windows media player and there seems to be no option to set overlay mixer.
are there any insiders maybe who could shed some insights on when that nasty bug is going to be fixed?
thanks

anyone?
if this is a widespread bug with 7900 cards, nvidia will fix it soon right?

You might also want to try enabling vsync on your nvidia control panel if you don't have it turned on.
