I wish to update my drivers for my 6600gt 128. What do I need to download? I'm trying to get a game to work that did recently, but wont now for reasons that are unclear.

Help please

That is not an easy call as some have better luck with certain drivers than others. That said, I use 84.20 on my main pc with a TC6200Q and considering the lower level card with passive cooling I get good results. All the 7900 series I use the latest drivers currently, 91.47.

The best overclock I ever had was with a 6600 vanilla card where I got a stable clocks at 600/550 with the 61.31 drivers. Those drivers worked extremely well with that card but that was a couple of years ago.

You need to go here http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

Select Graphics Driver, then GeForce and TNT series, then your OS. Which I assume is XP. This will lead you to the spot to grab the lastest drivers.

Any probs come back and let us know :)

Well, I installed the driver you that were suggested and they work with my other games, but still not this one. If its any help I get a message saying "Could not find any compatible Direct3D devices, exiting sample now."

What could that mean?

I got an updated version of directx, but I don't know where to install it, when I run the program it asks me where I want to place the extracted files. Does matter where? I know this is a total noob question so bear with me please
