Hi there,

I am selling my two xfx 7600gt xxx edidions on ebay and want to buy a single graphics card.
what I had in mind was a geforce 7950gt 512mb or the ati radeon 1900xt 512mb. I just dont know which one offers the best value performance.
If anyone can help me decide on which of these two cards or other models that would be great.

I'd say go with the one you can afford. The 7950gx2 is more expensive, but offers great performance, while the x1900xt is the better $/fps card. Whichever you get, I bet you won't be dissapointed! :) (I might add that getting an Evga 7950gx2 would be a smart move, since you'd get the 90 days exchange period and with the g80 around the corner you just might be lucky.. ;))

EDIT: Oh, I assumed you meant the 7950gx2 and not the 7950gt, sorry my bad! :o The x1900xt FOR sure, it offers better performance for the same amount, if not less, of money.

The 1900XT will whip the 7950GT. There's not a huge gap there, but there's a gap, and they go for about the same price--meaning the 1900 is the better deal. The 1900XT is about on par with my GTX.

my budjet is 300 max but if the geforce 8 comes out in time is it worth getting it or will the 1900xt last.

I would only get a g80 if it costs around 300-350

I believe that nVidia will release their flagship card first at around 400-500$(if not higher, since its the first dx10 capable card on the market), with the other slower card on its heels. So getting an x1900xt is a smart move, since most of today's games will run very good on it, epecially if you run your games at lower resolutions than 1600x1200. :)

Have a look here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/X1900_Series.html
Cheap Atix1900xt cards for 230. If you are prepared to wait get the G80 when it comes out. There will most likely be a GT version for under 300.

the thing is that I have a very fast 17inch moniter so I would be more than pleased to run all demanding games at 1280x1284 with 2x aa and 8xaf.
funny thing is that im more interested in anastorpic filtering than aa because you can see more clear especialy on a smaller moniter. so if the 1900xt drops any lower I will buy it if not ill save more money and buy a geforce 8 card.

THANKS:)
