Hi,

I want to enable the Tv-out on my videocard, but somehow nothing works.

I tried Twinview and also to create a second device, screen, monitor, etc...the result is always the same:
X hangs leaving my LCD half black, half white, and nothing on the TV...
I have an error message in my Xorg.0.log saying:
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failure reading maximum pixel clock value for display device
(EE) NVIDIA(0): TV-0.

What does this mean anyway?
Any ideas what i should do?

I am having the exact same problem.

Actually, it is not the same exact problem , but a similar one, with the same exact symptoms, i.e. my system hangs with a white rectangle for the bottom half of the screen. My problem is different in that this happens as soon as I enable the nvidia driver in xorg.conf, and does not depend on trying to use twinvies (although I'd like to eventually). Also my errors are:
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failure reading maximum pixel clock value for display device
(EE) NVIDIA(0): CRT-0
and
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failure reading maximum pixel clock value for display device
(EE) NVIDIA(0): TV-0

This is extra weird since I have no CRT or TV attached(yet)! I am runningn a dell inspiron 8000 with a geforce2 go. Not to hijack the thread, but it seems nasszer and I are having similar problems and I haven't found anything yet to help, either on "failure to read maximum pixel clock" or why Xserver is looking for a CRT and TV when they're not mentioned in xorg.conf
